COVID-19: Super Spreader Infects 24 Persons In A Building In Cutack City
Cuttack: As many as 24 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected from a single building in Kumbhara Sahi (Ward-26) in Bidanasi area here. The building has been declared as micro containment zone by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
As per information shared by the civic body, the 24 patients are members of nine families staying in the building. After detection of the cases, the CMC yesterday restricted public from entering into and going out of the building, besides declaring it as micro containment zone.
In larger public interest and to contain further spread of the infection, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das directed officials concerned to implement the following instructions:
- The area coming within the boundary as indicated below is hereby declared as containment zone.
North: Office of Kumbharasahi Puja Committee, East : House of Rajendra Kumar Behera - All the inhabitants within the micro containment zone shall strictly remain in home. The supply
of essentials and medical requirements will be ensured through Kumbhara
Sahi Puja Committee. - Three officers have been declared as the nodal officers to ensure smooth supply of
essentials/facilities in respect of the containment zone.
Worth mentioning, the city yesterday reported an all-time-high of positive cases while district registered 589 cases. Today, the district reported 247 COVID-19 cases, second highest in the state, after Khordha that witnessed 423 fresh cases.
