Central Team To Assess Flood Damage In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: An inter-ministerial central team led by Praveen Vashista, Joint Secretary (LWE), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India came on a 2-day visit to Odisha today for spot assessment of the situation in the wake of flood in the state in August.
The team comprises of members from the Ministry/Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Water Resources, Road Transport & Highways, Rural Development and Finance.
The team arrived in Bhubaneswar this morning. During the 2-day programme, the team is likely to visit 4 districts– Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Puri, and return to Bhubaneswar on September 17 afternoon.
A wrap up meeting will be held with the team under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary on September 17 evening at the Lok Seva Bhawan here. The team is scheduled to return in the evening.
