Wearing Helmet Miscreant Loots Cash At Gunpoint From Bank In Odisha Capital
Bhubaneswar: In a broad daylight robbery, a miscreant reportedly looted around Rs 2.8 lakh from a bank under Infocity police limits in Bhubaneswar today afternoon.
Based on a complaint filed by the bank’s two women employees who were present at the spot during the loot, police reached the bank’s branch and investigated the matter.
As per the complaint, a man wearing helmet, mask and gloves entered the Indian Overseas Bank, Kalarahanga branch this afternoon when the two women staff were at the bank. Brandishing a gun the man looted around Rs 2.8 lakh cash from the bank. Fearing for their lives, the two women employees remained mute spectator while the miscreant decamped with the cash.
After being informed, the Infocity police reached the bank and examined the CCTV footage.
Interestingly, there was no security guard engaged at the bank’s branch even though it is located at a lonely place in Kalarahanga.
A local said presence of an armed security guard at the bank’s branch could have averted the loot.
